Factors that are Creating Healthcare Inequality :
In reality, socioeconomic factors such as income, housing, diet and personal choices can influence our healthcare system. Thus it hugely affects the availability of medical care depending on our social status and income.
Though USA is known to be a rich country run by democratic laws, Americans are expected to live shorter and sicker lives, compared to people living in any other country. Healthcare has become so costly in the country that citizens often compromise with their health issues.
According to a report published by the Health Commentary, 2 million Americans live with a neglected parasitic infection. USA has the highest obesity rate in the developed world, which is also a contributing factor to other diseases.
American governments have promised to provide accessible healthcare to all, but have failed to do so. It is really sad that a highly developed country like USA ,couldn’t ensure safe maternity and childcare for all even today. The Health line reported, nearly 6 infants die for every 1,000 live births in the USA.
Health inequality still exists in American society. Medical Trust organizations are addressing these issues, to get into the root of the insidious causes and conditions of illnesses and resolve them accordingly.
Trust organizations are playing their part to spread awareness, and the right message about healthcare and hygiene. They are funding the costs of treatments, diagnosis, medicines and even surgeries for poor patients.
Now it is high time we too play our part and support the deserving organizations, so that they can continue their charitable services to prevent premature deaths and help to improve the quality of life for all.

History of Habitat:
Koinonia Farm and the Fund for Humanity
The concept that grew into Habitat for Humanity was born in the USA at Koinonia Farm, a small, interracial, Christian farming community. Koinonia Farm was founded in 1942 outside of Americus, Georgia, by farmer and biblical scholar Clarence Jordan and others to promote racial reconciliation.
Millard and Linda Fuller first visited Koinonia in 1965. They had recently left a successful business and an affluent lifestyle in Montgomery, Alabama, to begin a new life of Christian service.
At Koinonia, Jordan and Fuller developed the concept of “partnership housing.” The concept centered on those in need of adequate shelter working side by side with volunteers to build simple, decent houses.
The houses would be built at no profit and interest would not be charged on the loans. Building costs would be financed by a revolving fund called “The Fund for Humanity.” The fund’s money would come from the new homeowners’ house payments, no-interest loans provided by supporters and money earned by fundraising activities. The monies in the Fund for Humanity would be used to build more houses.
The Inception of Habitat for Humanity
In 1968, Koinonia laid out 42 half-acre house sites with four acres reserved as a community park and recreational area. Capital was donated from around the country to start the work. Homes were built and sold to families in need at no profit and no interest. The basic model of Habitat for Humanity was begun.

Conclusion:
It is unfortunate that we have turned the healthcare system into a privilege only available for the rich and wealthy. Healthcare is a basic necessity and should be given the highest priority in every social, economic and political agenda because this is the sector concerned with the living issues of human beings.
However, we have stubbornly disconnected our healthcare system from everything around it and have left the poor to suffer in isolation.
If we take a look at the past healthcare statistics of the country, we can see an existing relationship between the accessibility of public health and their incomes. In the years of 1832 and 1854, there were serious outbreaks of cholera in New York City which had wiped out a large number of poor people compared to the rich.
However, this inequality in our healthcare system is still strong in American society. Even today, the poor suffer more with illness, malnutrition and die without proper treatment because they do not have the capability to pay.
Medical Trust organizations are working to alleviate this social injustice and working tirelessly to bring a change which will definitely take time, intelligent measurements and funding.
It is true our world is an imperfect place and it gets even worse with chronic diseases, problems of the aging populations, and the emergence of new infections. If we want to alleviate these health issues, we have to spend our money on this and support the organizations working effectively to eliminate these issues.
It is always better to encourage continuous improvements instead of waiting for delayed perfection. If we sit back in the comfort of our homes nothing will change.
If we choose to live our monotonous life ignoring the societal issues, then we may get access to a good and comfortable life, but the troubles in our community will remain the same.
If we make a choice to support an active organization working for the betterment of our healthcare system, while ensuring permanent relief to the poor and needy patients a positive change is bound to come in our society and every person will benefit from it.
