Rewards of Ramadan Donations

In the Quran, Allah says, “And spend [in the way of Allah] from what We have provided you before death approaches one of you and he says, ‘My Lord if only You would delay me for a brief term so I would give charity and be among the righteous.’” (63:10). This verse emphasizes the importance of giving to those in need and the benefits of doing so, even in the face of death.

In another verse, Allah says, “They ask you, [O Muhammad], what they should spend. Say, ‘Whatever you spend of good is [to be done] for parents and relatives and orphans and the needy and the traveler. And whatever you do of good — indeed, Allah is Knowing of it.’” (2:215). This verse highlights the various groups of people that one can give to and the good deeds that result from doing so.

In Hadith, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “The best charity is that given in Ramadan.” (Bukhari and Muslim). This hadith emphasizes that the best and most important donations in Islam are the ones given during Ramadan. It also means that the rewards of such givings are higher during this holy month.

In another Hadith, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “Charity does not decrease wealth.” (Bukhari). This hadith highlights the benefits of giving to others, even if it may seem difficult or sacrificial.

Best Ways to be Charitable in Ramadan

Ramadan is a month of spiritual cleansing. If you do it right, organizing your budget during Ramadan can also help you give more donations.

Ibn Abbas (RA) narrated, “The Prophet (peace be upon him) was the most generous of people, and he used to become more generous in Ramadan” (Sahih al-Bukhari).

There are many organizations and charities that work to provide support and assistance to those in need. Donating to these organizations is a way to make a difference in the lives of others and support important causes.
