Zainab Fatima's Story

Zainab Fatima, a 23-year-old resident of Lahore, was pregnant with her second child. While this should be a joyful chapter of her life, Zainab‘s heart had been filled with uncertainty. She had a medical history of three previous C-sections, two of which tragically resulted in stillbirths. Given her complicated obstetric history, her doctor strongly recommended a planned C-section to ensure the safety of both mother and baby. However, the cost of the C-section was out of her reach.

Zainab lived in a single-room house with her husband and one child. Her husband worked as a delivery rider, earning a modest monthly income of just PKR 30,000. After covering basic necessities such as utility bills and food, they were left with no savings to afford the cost of her surgery. The stress of financial limitations added to Zainab’s emotional strain. With nowhere else to turn, the family reached out to Transparent Hands in the hope of receiving support. The operation went smoothly, and she gave birth to a healthy baby girl, bringing immense joy to the family. After receiving proper post-operative care, Zainab was discharged in good health on March 6, 2025.
