Zafar Ul Haq Found Relief from Knee Pain
Zafar Ul Haq's Story
Zafar Ul Haq, a 60-year-old resident of Lower Dir, was suffering from intense knee pain and discomfort. The pain in his left knee was particularly severe, making it nearly impossible for him to stand, walk, or perform daily tasks without assistance. This condition not only affected his mobility but also took away his ability to support his family. To find relief, Zafar consulted a local doctor who conducted an X-ray and diagnosed him with advanced osteoarthritis. The doctor recommended a total knee replacement surgery for his left knee. However, the high cost of the surgery was far beyond Zafar’s means.
Zafar lived in a modest home with his six children. Zafar depended on his two sons, who worked as daily wage laborers, earning a combined income of just PKR 25,000 per month. This meager amount barely covered their household expenses, let alone the cost of the surgery. Over time, Zafar’s condition continued to worsen. During this time of need, Zafar turned to Transparent Hands and asked for assistance. After learning about his situation, we registered his case.
On November 29, 2024, Zafar was admitted to Zia Darman Hospital in Mardan. The surgery took place on November 30, 2024. Dr. Aimen Zia performed the knee replacement surgery successfully. After receiving essential post-operative care, Zafar was discharged in satisfactory condition on December 2, 2024.
Zafar’s surgery was a turning point in his life. After years of suffering, he is now regaining his mobility and independence. Expressing his gratitude, Zafar said:
“I had lost hope of living a pain-free life, but your support has given me a new chance. I can now stand on my own feet and support my family again. Thank you for this life-changing gift.”
Zafar now looks forward to walking without pain, resuming his responsibilities, and creating a better future for his children. His family is overwhelmed with gratitude, as they see him recovering and returning to normal life. The surgery has not only alleviated his pain but has also restored hope and joy to his family.
