Muhammad Zain Ul Abideen's Story

Zain ul Abideen, a 4-year-old boy from Lahore, had lived in silence since birth. He was confined to his small and quiet world while his friends continued to reach multiple milestones in their lives. Zain often stayed silent and avoided interaction with others. His parents took him to a local hospital and received a consultation from a doctor, who conducted some medical tests and diagnosed Zain with congenital Sensorineural Hearing Loss (SNHL). To provide him with the ability to hear and speak, the doctor advised cochlear implant surgery. Unfortunately, the surgical cost was overwhelming for Zain’s family.

Zain lived in a small house with his seven family members. His father worked as a police employee and his income just covered their basic needs. With the surgery costing far more than what they could afford, Zain’s parents were heartbroken. Desperate to help their son, they turned to Transparent Hands for support. After assessing their situation, Transparent Hands quickly registered Zain’s case.

On 14th November 2024, Zain was admitted to Evercare Hospital, Lahore, where Dr. Imran Saeed successfully implanted the internal component of the cochlear device. Zain received proper post-operative care and was discharged in satisfactory condition on 15th November 2024.

Six weeks later, the external component of the cochlear implant was installed, marking the start of Zain’s journey into the world of sounds. To fully learn language and communication skills, Zain now attends speech therapy sessions.

Zain’s parents were overjoyed and they said:

This life-changing surgery has given Zain the chance to experience the world in a new way. He can now interact with his family, play with his siblings, and grow with endless possibilities ahead.
