You Supported Saba Siddique’s ERCP
Saba Siddique's Story
Saba Siddique, a 38-year-old woman from Lahore, had been struggling with severe upper abdominal pain for the past two years. In May 2024, she underwent a cholecystectomy but her discomfort persisted. Concerned about her ongoing symptoms, she visited a nearby hospital for a consultation. After conducting an ultrasound scan and lab tests, the doctor diagnosed Saba with choledocholithiasis. In September 2024, her ERCP was done through Transparent Hands to relieve obstruction in CBD, and a stent was placed. On her follow-up visit, her doctor advised ERCP with sphincteroplasty to remove the stone. However, the cost of the procedure was out of her financial capacity.
Saba lived in a small one-room brick house with her husband and a young child. Her husband worked as a tailor, earning just PKR 25,000 per month. Their limited income barely covered their essential expenses, including food and utility bills. It left them with no savings to afford the costly medical procedure. Their financial constraints placed immense stress on the family, and Saba feared she would never recover. In search of hope, she reached out to Transparent Hands for support. Understanding her critical condition, we quickly registered her case and arranged for her procedure.
On January 27, 2025, she was admitted to Lahore Care Hospital, Lahore. Her ERCP with sphincteroplasty was successfully performed by Dr. Saleem. The procedure effectively removed the stone, restoring her health and alleviating her pain. After a smooth recovery, she was discharged in stable condition on January 29, 2025.
Feeling immense relief, Saba expressed her gratitude as follows:
“I had lost hope of ever finding relief from my pain. Through your kindness and support, I can finally live without discomfort. I can’t describe my happiness in words. I am immensely grateful for this life-changing help.”
With her health restored, Saba can now focus on her family and daily life without the burden of constant pain. Her family extends their deepest gratitude to you for making her recovery possible.
