Hussain Ali's Story

Three-year-old Hussain Ali, a resident of Jhelum, had been suffering from breathlessness and cyanosis since birth. On detailed medical consultation, he was diagnosed with congenital cardiac defects called Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF). The doctor advised surgery for the repair of these defects. For this purpose, Hussain was admitted to Ittefaq Hospital, Lahore, and his open-heart surgery was done. Total correction was not possible for him so, BT shunt procedure was performed by Dr. Salman Ahmed Shah on 31-05-2022. He was discharged two days later in satisfactory condition. He is recovering swiftly from his major surgery. The surgery was conducted with the support of the Pakistan Children’s Heart Foundation and other donors.
