Abdullah’s Recovery Possible

Abdullah Khan's Story

Abdullah Khan, a 12-year-old boy from Karachi, had been suffering from persistent throat infections for the past four years. His condition was marked by recurrent episodes of severe sore throat, high-grade fever, and constant fatigue. Even simple tasks like speaking and swallowing had become painful, making it difficult for him to concentrate on his studies. His parents took him to a local hospital, where a doctor conducted a detailed examination and recommended some lab tests. After reviewing the results, the doctor diagnosed Abdullah with chronic tonsillitis and advised a tonsillectomy. However, the cost of the surgery was far beyond the family’s financial reach.

Abdullah lived in a small rented house with his parents and three younger siblings, who were all in school. His father, the sole provider for the family, worked as a daily wage laborer, earning only PKR 28,000 per month. This modest income was barely enough to cover basic living expenses, leaving no room for medical costs. With no means to afford the surgery, Abdullah’s parents felt helpless, fearing for their son’s well-being. Realizing their struggles, they turned to Transparent Hands for assistance.

On January 21, 2025, Abdullah was admitted to Murshid Hospital in Karachi, where Dr. Mubashir successfully performed his tonsillectomy. The surgery relieved Abdullah of the persistent pain and infections that had troubled him for years. After receiving post-operative care, he was discharged in satisfactory condition on January 22, 2025.

Feeling immense relief, Abdullah’s mother shared her gratitude as follows:

“Seeing my son suffer every day was heartbreaking. We had no hope of affording his treatment, but you made it possible. Thanks to your generosity, Abdullah is now healthy and pain-free. We will never forget this kindness.”

With his health restored, Abdullah can now enjoy his childhood without the constant pain that once held him back. His family is incredibly grateful to you for making his treatment possible. You have given him a chance to live a healthy and happy life.
