Muhammad Saad's Story

Muhammad Saad, a 3-year-old boy from Muzaffargarh, was born into a world of silence. Saad couldn’t even communicate his basic needs. Upon noticing his unresponsiveness to sounds, Saad’s family took him to a local hospital and consulted a doctor. After performing a series of tests, the doctor diagnosed Saad with congenital Sensorineural Hearing Loss (SNHL). The doctor recommended cochlear implant surgery as the only solution for Saad to gain the ability to hear. Unfortunately, his family was unable to pay for his surgery.

Saad lived in a modest house with his parents and two siblings. His father, the sole provider for the family, worked as a police employee and earned PKR 58000 per month. With this modest monthly income, it was extremely hard for them to afford the utility bills as well as grocery expenses. Saad’s parents prayed day and night for a miracle and they were afraid about Saad’s future due to his deafness. The cost of the surgery was beyond their financial reach, leaving them devastated. With no other options, they turned to Transparent Hands for help. We registered Saad’s case and scheduled his surgery.

On 26th November 2024, Saad was admitted to the Evercare Hospital, Lahore. Dr. Imran Saeed successfully inserted the internal component of the cochlear implant. After receiving post-operative care, Saad was discharged in stable condition on 27th November 2024.

In 6 to 8 weeks, the external component of the cochlear implant will be installed, enabling Saad to hear for the first time. Following this, he will begin speech therapy sessions to develop language and communication skills.
