You Helped Jahanzaib Hear the World
Jahanzaib Abdul's Story
Little Jahanzaib, a one-year-old residing in the village of Shikarpur, Sindh, had been deprived of the joys of hearing since the day he was born. His concerned parents, determined to find a solution, sought medical intervention, only to be told that their son required a life-changing cochlear implant surgery.
However, the financial constraints faced by Jahanzaib’s family presented a formidable obstacle. His father, a humble laborer, struggled to make ends meet, earning a meager income that was insufficient to cover the costs of the essential surgery. Faced with this daunting challenge, the family’s hopes began to fade, until they reached out to the compassionate team at Transparent Hands.
Through the generosity of donors, Jahanzaib’s case was swiftly registered, and he was admitted to GIMS Hospital in Karachi. On May 9, 2024, under the skilled hands of Dr. Maqbool, the internal component of the cochlear implant was expertly installed. After just two days of recovery, Jahanzaib was discharged, embarking on his journey to a world filled with the sounds he had never experienced before.
In the weeks that followed, the external component of the cochlear implant was fixed, and Jahanzaib began a series of transformative speech therapy sessions. With each passing day, his ability to respond to voices and engage with his surroundings blossomed, bringing immense joy to his parents and family.
Today, Jahanzaib’s laughter and newfound ability to communicate have transformed the dynamics of his household. The once-silent world he inhabited has been replaced by the melodic sounds of his own voice, the tender words of his parents, and the playful banter with his siblings. Through the collective efforts of Transparent Hands and the generosity of its donors, Jahanzaib’s future has been forever altered, opening a world of possibilities and experiences that were once beyond his reach.
