Uzma’s thyroid surgery went well
Uzma Habib's Story
Uzma Habib, aged 23 years, had a lump on the front of her neck for about ten years. It started increasing in size in the last few months. This caused pain and discomfort. When Uzma consulted a doctor, a thorough evaluation revealed that she was suffering from multinodular goiter. The surgeon advised a subtotal thyroidectomy for her. For this purpose, she was admitted to Akram Medical Complex and the surgery was performed by Dr. Ahmed Fawad on 20.05.2021. Her thyroid gland was removed except for a small portion that was left for the preservation of normal thyroid function. She stayed in the hospital for three days and was discharged in a stable condition. Uzma’s recovery is steady since she is taking bed rest as advised by her surgeon.
