Sobia Underwent Ileostomy Reversal Surgery

Sobia Parveen's Story

Sobia Parveen, a 31-year-old woman from Lahore, had encountered numerous challenges throughout her health journey. She had been troubled by a distressing lump in her abdominal region, and to make matters worse, she received a diagnosis of an ovarian cyst.

Following consultations with a specialist, it was determined that Sobia needed to undergo gynecological surgery. However, the procedure took an unexpected turn. After the surgery, she developed an acute abdomen, prompting doctors to perform a laparotomy. During the exploratory procedure, they discovered a twisted and gangrenous segment of her small intestine. To address the issue, a resection was performed, resulting in a double barrel ileostomy.

Nevertheless, Sobia’s ultimate goal was to have her ileostomy reversed. Before proceeding with the crucial surgery, a loopogram was necessary to plan accordingly. After undergoing the loopogram, the doctor deemed Sobia ready for the ileostomy reversal surgery.

Unfortunately, the financial strain from her previous medical procedures had left her husband feeling exhausted. The cost of reversing the ileostomy added burden, casting a shadow of hopelessness over their lives. However, Transparent Hands once again stepped in and registered Sobia’s case.

After five days in the hospital, Sobia was discharged in a satisfactory condition.
