Muhammad Sameer Hayat's Story

Muhammad Sameer Hayat, a one-year-old boy residing in Sargodha, had been leading a silent and isolated life due to his hearing impairment. His parents first noticed his hearing loss when he was just a few months old and promptly took him to the local hospital for tests. Following a consultation, the doctors diagnosed Sameer with sensorineural hearing loss and recommended cochlear implant surgery as the most effective solution.

Unfortunately, Sameer’s family faced significant financial constraints while living in a small house with his parents and three siblings. Despite his father’s diligent work, they could not afford the expenses associated with the surgical procedure. Desperate for assistance, Sameer’s father reached out to Transparent Hands, hoping to register his son’s case and receive help.

Through the kindness and generosity of numerous individuals, Sameer’s case was accepted, and he was admitted to Ali Medical Center in Islamabad. There, a highly skilled surgeon, Dr. Jawad Ahmed successfully implanted the internal component of the cochlear implant on April 1, 2024. Remarkably, just one day later, Sameer was discharged from the hospital.

Over the next six weeks, the external implant was installed, and Sameer began attending scheduled speech therapy sessions. These sessions held the promise of restoring the wonders of sound to Sameer’s life. The joy experienced by his parents knew no bounds as they witnessed their innocent son’s transformation. Their eyes shimmered with delight as Sameer could finally hear the laughter of his family, the melodious songs of birds, and the enchanting melodies of music. It was as if a whole new world had unfolded before him.

With the unwavering support of dedicated professionals and the unwavering love of his family, Sameer embarked on a remarkable journey of learning new words and sounds. Step by step, he began to grasp the intricacies of language, gradually mastering the art of expressing himself. Today, Sameer thrives in a world filled with the symphony of sound.
