Riffat Safely Delivered a Baby Girl

Riffat Bibi's Story

Riffat Bibi, a 22-year-old woman from Multan, was pregnant with her second child. Riffat had a history of one C-section which led her to consult a gynecologist, who conducted some medical tests and performed a thorough examination. After the evaluation and check-up, she found out that her pregnancy was high-risk and she would need another C-section. Riffat’s doctor strongly recommended this procedure to ensure a safe delivery. However, the cost of the surgery was beyond her family’s means.

Riffat lived in a small mud house with her four family members. Her husband, the sole breadwinner in the family, worked as a daily wage laborer and earned just PKR 25000 per month. With this meager income, they struggled to cover even their essentials. Riffat’s heart filled with anxiety and worries about what would happen if she couldn’t arrange money for her C-section. A neighbor told her about Transparent Hands and she reached out to us for help. Moved by her plea, we quickly registered her case.

On 15th August 2024, Riffat was admitted to Bakhtawar Amin Memorial Hospital in Multan. Her surgery was scheduled for the following day, 16th August 2024. Dr. Bushra performed her C-section surgery. The procedure went smoothly and she gave birth to a baby girl.

Riffat was hospitalized for four days and she received post-operative care and essential medications. On 19th August 2024, she was discharged in satisfactory condition from the hospital.

Riffat’s husband was filled with emotions as he shared his gratitude as follows:
