Nosheen Successfully Underwent Tonsillectomy
Nosheen Bibi's Story
Nosheen, a 17-year-old woman from Karachi, was suffering from recurrent episodes of sore throat and fever for four years. It became challenging for Nosheen to focus on her studies and enjoy life’s simple pleasures. Nosheen used over-the-counter medicines, but the relief was always temporary. The fever and sore throat cycle worsened, leaving Nosheen drained and in constant discomfort. She received a medical consultation from a doctor, who, after a thorough examination diagnosed her with chronic tonsillitis and recommended tonsillectomy to end the cycle of infections and give her a chance at a normal life. However, the surgical cost was out of the reach of Nosheen’s family.
Nosheen lives in a small house with a joint family of eight members. Her father works as a daily wager and earns just PKR 15000 per month. The entire family relies upon him for living expenses. Due to their financial constraints, paying for the surgery was overwhelming for them. During this challenging time, Transparent Hands stepped in to help her and improve her quality of life. We understood the situation and promptly registered her case.
On June 28, 2024, Nosheen was admitted to the Murshid Hospital in Karachi. Nosheen’s tonsillectomy was performed by Dr. Paras Naeem. He carefully managed the operation and made the surgery successful. Nosheen was discharged from the hospital on June 29, 2024, and returned home with a new sense of hope and joy.
Nosheen expressed her emotions as follows:
“Before the surgery, I was in constant pain. Every night was restless, and I felt so drained. With your help, I found hope when there was nowhere else to turn. I’m grateful for this chance; my new life has begun!”
The tonsillectomy put an end to her chronic infections, and she can now swallow without pain, speak without difficulty, and enjoy her life free from the grip of fevers.
We express our gratitude to you for supporting Nosheen. Your contribution has transformed her life and has given her a healthy start at a young age. She can now look forward to a bright and hopeful future. You made a significant impact on her life.
