Muhammad Hamdan’s open heart surgery was a success
Muhammad Hamdan's Story
Muhammad Hamdan, aged 3 years, a resident of Sawat suffered from difficulty in breathing and bluish discoloration of skin and nails on mild exertion since birth. On medical consultation, he was diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF). TOF is a birth defect that affects normal blood flow through the heart. The cardiac surgeon advised open heart surgery for total correction. For this purpose, Muhammad Hamdan was admitted to Ittefaq Hospital and his open-heart surgery was performed by Dr. Asim Khan on 17.06.2021. He stayed in the hospital for four days and was discharged in a stable condition. Hamdan’s health has improved a great deal since his surgery.
