Muhammad Anees’s Painful Neck Lump Has Been Removed
Muhammad Anees's Story
Muhammad Anees, a 19-year-old resident of Lahore, had been suffering from a painful neck lump for many years. He had Pendred syndrome which caused hearing loss and affected his thyroid gland. With time, his thyroid gland issue became severe and impacted his ability to breathe and swallow. Moreover, he also experienced a feeling of pressure in his neck which strained his voice. He went to a nearby hospital and consulted a doctor, who conducted some lab tests and an ultrasound scan and diagnosed him with a large Multinodular Goiter (MNG). His doctor recommended a Near Total Thyroidectomy to treat his thyroid issue. However, the cost of the surgery was beyond his family’s financial capacity.
Anees lived in a modest rented house with his thirteen family members. His father and brothers worked as daily wage laborers. Their monthly income was insufficient which barely covered the house rent, utility bills, groceries as well as educational expenses. Anees dreamt of living a healthy life where he could focus on his studies and become an active member of society. Unfortunately, his financial constraints made it impossible for him to afford the surgery. During this time of need, Anees’s family decided to contact Transparent Hands and asked us to register his case. After knowing about his situation, we swiftly registered his case.
On 7th October 2024, Anees was admitted to the Lahore Care Hospital. The surgery took place on the same day. Dr. Ahmed Fawad carefully performed his surgery, giving hope and relief to Anees. He was hospitalized for two days and received post-operative care and necessary medicines. On 9th October 2024, Anees was discharged in satisfactory condition from the hospital.
Anees’s parents were overjoyed and said:
“We never thought we’d know happiness like this again. Being able to live without pain has completely changed Anees’s life. We are grateful beyond words to you for making this surgery possible. You have given him his future and his joy back.”
Anees is healing and is able to speak, study, and breathe like other boys of his age. He can now continue his education and pursue his dreams. His family is thankful to you for your generosity and for bringing a remarkable change in his life.
