Mehrab Bibi's Story

Mehrab Bibi, a 20-year-old woman from Rawalpindi, was expecting her third child. With a history of two previous C-sections, she was filled with anxiety about her upcoming delivery. She knew that her pregnancy required specialized care. Therefore, she visited a local hospital and consulted a gynecologist. After conducting an ultrasound scan and some lab tests, the doctor advised an elective C-section, explaining that a natural birth could lead to severe complications. While this recommendation was crucial for safe delivery, the cost of the surgery was far beyond her family’s reach.

Mehrab lived in a small rented house with her husband and two young children. Her husband, the sole breadwinner, worked as a rider at a courier company, earning a modest PKR 35,000 per month. With this limited income, they struggled to meet their daily expenses, leaving no financial room for a costly medical procedure. As her due date approached, Mehrab and her family grew increasingly worried, unsure of how they would manage the cost of the life-saving surgery. Feeling helpless, they began searching for assistance and came across Transparent Hands. Moved by her plea, we quickly registered Mehrab’s case.

On January 26, 2025, she was admitted to Maryam Memorial Hospital in Rawalpindi. Under the expert care of Dr. Sadia, she underwent a successful C-section. The procedure ensured the safe delivery of a healthy baby girl, bringing immense relief to Mehrab and her loved ones. After receiving post-operative care, she was discharged in stable condition on January 27, 2025.
