Maria Bibi’s Heart Defect has been Corrected
Maria Bibi's Story
Three-year-old Maria, a resident of Rahim Yar Khan, was suffering from shortness of breath upon mild exertion, nausea, and vomiting. She was also unable to gain weight. After evaluation and running some diagnostic tests, the doctor diagnosed her with Atrial Septal Defect (ASD). The cardiac surgeon advised open-heart surgery for ASD Closure. She was admitted to the University of Lahore Teaching Hospital, Lahore, where her operation was performed by Dr. Asim on 03-09-2022. She was discharged from the hospital after four days of stay. This surgery was made possible with the support of the Pakistan Children’s Heart Foundation. Maria is doing fine now.
