Khurram is No longer Facing Pain Due to Hernia

Khurram Mushtaq's Story

Khurram Mushtaq, a 43-year-old man from Lahore, was suffering from pain and discomfort due to lumps in his both groin regions. Over time, his right-sided lump increased in size and became painful. Simple activities like walking, bending, and prolonged sitting became painful for him, and it led him to consult a doctor. After running an ultrasound scan and some lab tests, the doctor diagnosed Khurram with a bilateral inguinal hernia. However, his right-sided hernia was more symptomatic, therefore, his doctor advised herniorrhaphy of his right inguinal region. Unfortunately, the surgical cost was overwhelming for Khurram.

Khurram lived in a small rented house with his wife and four children. He was the sole breadwinner in the family and worked as a factory employee and earned just PKR 27000 per month. This monthly income was inadequate to even cover their household expenses. Khurram’s family was dependent upon him for living expenses. The thought of not being able to provide for his family drained Khurram emotionally. At that time, he contacted Transparent Hands and asked for help. After listening to his concerns, we promptly registered his case.

On 22nd October 2024, Khurram was admitted to Lahore Care Hospital. The surgery was scheduled for 22nd October 2024. Dr. Ahmed Fawad carefully managed his case and performed his surgery, giving him a new lease on life. Khurram was hospitalized for two days and received post-operative care and essential medicines. On 23rd October 2024, Khurram was discharged in satisfactory condition from the hospital.

Khurram Mushtaq was overwhelmed with happiness and said:
