Khuda Buksh's Story

In recent months, Khuda Buksh has confronted significant challenges as he grappled with a left diabetic foot condition. Initially seeking medical intervention, he underwent symptomatic treatment as prescribed by a doctor to alleviate the persistent inflammation. However, despite these efforts, the situation worsened, ultimately necessitating the unfortunate amputation of his left leg below the knee due to a severe and worsening infection.

The loss of his leg had a profound impact on Khuda Buksh’s ability to perform daily activities independently, highlighting the urgent need for an artificial leg to restore mobility and enhance his overall quality of life. Tragically, financial constraints presented a formidable obstacle for his family, preventing them from affording the crucial prosthetic limb that would enable him to regain his independence.

As a 53-year-old resident of Kasur, Khuda Buksh resides in a rented house with his wife. Despite his unwavering dedication to providing for his family, his modest monthly income of PKR 33,000 placed them in a precarious financial situation. The strain on their resources left no room to meet the substantial expenses associated with acquiring an artificial leg. Faced with this daunting reality, Khuda Buksh turned to Transparent Hands.

Through the selfless contributions of our generous individuals, Khuda Buksh underwent successful amputation on December 14th, 2023, at Hope Rehabilitation Centre under the expert supervision of Dr. Khalid Niaz. Overwhelmed with gratitude, Khuda Buksh expressed his heartfelt appreciation to Transparent Hands for their invaluable support throughout his journey to recovery.
