Muhammad Jamil, a 22-year-old resident of Pak Pattan, had a sad incident two years ago in which his leg was stuck and badly crushed in a brick-making machine. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where his leg was amputated because of a lack of blood supply that led to the development of gangrene. The doctor advised getting a prosthetic leg to regain his mobility and independence. He eagerly awaited an artificial leg that would allow him to walk again and regain his independence. However, he could not afford to pay for it due to financial constraints. 

He reached out to Transparent Hands, and we registered his case. Under the supervision of Dr. Khalid at Hope Rehabilitation Centre, his left above-knee prosthesis was fixed on 26-07-2023. He was overjoyed to be able to walk again after receiving an artificial leg.

The transformation that Jamil underwent was truly extraordinary, evoking a profound emotional response. As the sole breadwinner of his family, Jamil shouldered a heavy burden of responsibilities, despite his young age. The left leg prosthesis was a turning point in his life, aiding him in fulfilling his duties with newfound ease and efficiency. 

Before receiving the prosthetic leg, Jamil’s physical limitations hindered his ability to work effectively and provide for his family. He often relied on the assistance of others, which not only compromised his independence but also placed additional strain on those around him. However, with the aid of the left leg prosthesis, he regained the ability to move freely and independently.
