Fizza’s colostomy surgery went well
Fizza Habib's Story
Fizza Habib, aged 1.5 years, was born with an unusual defect. Her fecal passage was also through the vaginal orifice. Concerned, when her parents took her to the doctor, she was diagnosed with an anorectal malformation called rectovestibular fistula (ARM- RVF). The surgeon advised a series of surgeries to correct her condition including sigmoid colostomy, repair of fistula and finally colostomy reversal. For this purpose, Fizza was admitted to Akram Medical Complex and her sigmoid loop colostomy (stage 1 surgery) was performed by Dr. M. Bilal Mirza on 16.06.2021. She stayed in the hospital for two days and was discharged in a satisfactory condition. Fizza had a swift recovery post-surgery.
