Eshmal Naz Is Exploring the World of Sounds
Eshmal Naz's Story
Eshmal Naz, a 1-year-old brave girl from Malakand, had been suffering from congenital sensorineural hearing loss. Due to this condition, she couldn’t hear the voices of her parents and enjoy the delightful sounds of the world around her. Her family consulted with a doctor who recommended cochlear implant surgery.
Eshmal is her parent’s only child. They were heartbroken to see their daughter struggling to hear the sounds around her. Eshmal’s father is the only breadwinner in the family and the cost of her surgery loomed heavily over him. He has a meager monthly income of PKR 40,000 per month and a loan amounting to PKR 135,000. In this time of distress, her family found Transparent Hands and contacted us to seek help. Considering the impact of the cochlear implant on her quality of life, we swiftly registered her case.
With our assistance, she was admitted to Ali Medical Centre Islamabad. The skilled hands of Dr. Jawad Ahmad implanted the internal component of the cochlear device on 24-05-2024. The surgery was a remarkable success, enabling her to enjoy the symphony of sounds.
The external component of the cochlear implant was installed after six weeks. She has also started attending regular speech therapy sessions to develop her ability to hear and speak.
Eshmal’s father said:
“We jumped with joy when she started responding to sounds. Our happiness can’t be described in words. We are thankful to all the donors who helped our daughter with gaining the ability to hear.”
Eshmal Naz has emerged from the world of silence and is continuously learning new words. Your donation brought her to a future filled with endless possibilities. Her family thanks you for every new milestone. We are grateful to all donors who contributed generously.
