Aqsa Bibi's Story
Aqsa Bibi, aged 5 years, a resident of Kohat was born with Congenital Hearing loss. When she was 2.5 years old her parents noticed that she was not responding to sounds, they got worried and took her to the doctor. There she was diagnosed with a condition known as Sensorineural Hearing Loss. The doctor recommended a Cochlear Implant for Aqsa Bibi. For this purpose she was referred to the National Hospital and Medical Center. Here her surgery was performed and a Cochlear Implant was installed by Dr. Naveed Aslam on 28.08.2021. She was discharged in a stable condition after two days of hospital stay. However this was not the end of her procedure. She will soon visit the hospital again for the placement of the external component of her device.
