Amna Bibi’s Open–Heart Surgery was Successful
Amna Bibi's Story
One-and-a-half-year-old Amna Bibi, a resident of Rahim Yar Khan, was suffering from high fever and shortness of breath since birth. Upon consultation, she was diagnosed with Multiple Ventricular Septal Defects (VSDs), Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA), and Pulmonary Hypertension (PHT). The cardiologist advised Open-Heart Surgery with Pulmonary Artery Banding (PAB) and PDA ligation. She was admitted to Ittefaq Hospital and her surgery was performed by Dr. Asim Khan on 04-07-2022. Her Open-Heart Surgery was successful. She was discharged from the hospital after her five days of stay. This surgery was made possible with the support of the Pakistan Children’s Heart Foundation. Amina Bibi has recovered fully after the surgery.
