Abdul Waris's Story

Abdul Waris, a 3-year-old boy from Lahore, had been suffering from swelling and discomfort in his right groin. His parents noticed that his condition worsened whenever he cried or played. Concerned, they took him to a local hospital and consulted a doctor. After performing an ultrasound scan and some lab tests, the doctor diagnosed Abdul Waris with a right inguinal hernia. To prevent further complications, the doctor advised a right inguinal herniotomy. However, his family was unable to bear the surgical expenses.

Abdul Waris lived in a small rented house with his parents and four siblings. His father worked as a factory employee and his mother was a seamstress. They both worked hard to make ends meet but could hardly make PKR 25000 per month. They were extremely worried about their son’s illness but knew they could not afford the cost of the surgery. Their financial constraints left them helpless. After hearing about Transparent Hands, Abdul’s parents reached out for support. On 29th October 2024, Abdul Waris was admitted to the Lahore Care Hospital. Dr. Ahmed Fawad successfully performed his right inguinal herniotomy. Abdul Waris remained under observation post-surgery and was provided with the necessary medications and care. He was discharged in stable condition on 31st October 2024. Abdul Waris’s parents were overwhelmed with relief. They shared their gratitude as follows:
