Abdul Rehman’s Heart is Healthy Now

Abdul Rehman's Story

Abdul Rehman, a 1-year-old boy from Mardan, had been suffering from breathlessness and chest discomfort since birth. Simple activities like crying or feeding left him exhausted, and his pale complexion deeply worried his parents. Rehman’s parents consulted a doctor. After a detailed examination, the doctor diagnosed him with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF). This condition was marked by four significant heart abnormalities.

The doctor explained that the only way to save Rehman’s life and ensure his normal development was to perform open-heart surgery for total correction. However, the cost of the surgery was beyond what his family could afford.

Rehman lived in a modest two-room brick house with nine family members. His father and uncle, both daily wage laborers, earned a meager income that barely covered the household expenses. Facing extreme financial hardships, Rehman’s parents were heartbroken and desperate to save their child’s life. During their time of need, his family turned to Transparent Hands for help. Touched by his parent’s plight, we registered his case and with the generous support of donors, we were able to ensure Rehman received medical care.

On December 16, 2024, Rehman underwent a successful open-heart surgery for total correction at Ittefaq Hospital in Lahore under the expert care of Dr. Asim. The surgery went smoothly, and Rehman’s condition began to improve significantly. He could breathe easily and had more energy than ever before.
