Transparent Hands Partners with Vision Trust to Provide Eye Treatments in Sindh
Transparent Hands, a leading non-profit organization committed to providing free surgical and medical care to underprivileged communities in Pakistan, is pleased to announce a partnership with Vision Trust, a renowned organization specializing in providing eye surgeries and vision care services in Sindh. On 29th August 2024, the two organizations signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to make eye care services accessible to Sindh’s underprivileged communities.
This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed by Mr. Raheel Abbas, Transparent Hands’ Director of Operations, and Dr. Mazhar Awan, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Vision Trust.
As per the MOU, Transparent Hands will refer deserving eye patients to Vision Trust. These patients will undergo surgeries at Khairu-nisa Eye Hospital, Karachi, which is owned by Vision Trust. Both organizations will contribute equally for these surgical treatments (50% for each patient).
Besides this, Transparent Hands and Vision Trust will collaborate to organize free medical and eye camps in Sindh. Under the partnership, the organizations will target those regions of Sindh where eye diseases like cataract are prevalent and many patients are unable to access healthcare services. The free eye camps will help numerous underprivileged patients regain their sight and independence. Transparent Hands will make transportation and venues available for the camps, while Vision Trust is responsible for providing free eye glasses and eye check-ups.
Raheel Abbas, Director of Operations at Transparent Hands, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, and said, “This partnership with Vision Trust represents a significant step towards bridging the gap in access to eye care for underprivileged communities in Sindh who have long been deprived of it. By combining our resources, we are setting the stage for significant change in the lives of deserving patients. Together, we look forward to extending eye care and improving the quality of life of needy patients in Sindh.”
This partnership will not only reduce the prevalence of some common eye issues but also enhance quality of life, improve productivity, and empower people with improved vision. Together, Transparent Hands and Vision Trust are committed to making a significant difference in the health sector of Sindh.
