Zoha Awaits Cochlear Implant Surgery
Zoha Fatima's Story
Zoha Fatima, a 3-year-old girl from Faisalabad, has been living in a silent world since birth. Zoha’s parents took her to a local hospital and consulted a doctor. After running some medical tests, the doctor diagnosed Zoha with bilateral congenital sensorineural hearing loss. Zoha’s doctor recommended cochlear implant surgery, a procedure that will enable Zoha to hear, learn to speak, and develop abilities like other children of her age. Unfortunately, the cost of the surgery is out of her family’s reach.
However, time is critical. If Zoha does not undergo surgery soon, her condition will severely impact her developmental milestones. The early years of life are crucial for language and cognitive development. Without the ability to hear, Zoha risks permanent delays in speech and learning. The lack of timely intervention may confine her to a life of isolation and dependency.
Zoha lives in a modest two-room house with her seven family members. Her father works as a police employee, earning a modest monthly income that barely covers their utility bills, food, and other living expenses. Her parents dream of seeing their daughter communicate and express herself freely. However, the cost of cochlear implant surgery is far beyond their means, leaving the family in despair. During this time of need, Zoha’s family turned to Transparent Hands for assistance.
Zoha’s parents said in grief:
“Every day, we dream of talking with our beloved daughter. Watching her struggle to understand the world around her breaks our hearts. We want her to have the chance to hear, to speak, and to live a normal life, but we cannot afford this surgery. Please help us.”
Zoha’s future depends on your kindness. Your support can give her the ability to hear her parents’ voices and live her life without limitations. Together, we can help her take the first steps towards a more fulfilling future.
Your contributions can turn her silence into a world of possibilities.
