Muhammad Usman's Story

Muhammad Usman, a two-year-old resident of Bahawalpur, is struggling with debilitating chest discomfort and shortness of birth. His parents got to know about his condition several months ago. After undergoing some diagnostic tests at a nearby hospital, he was diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) and Double outlet right ventricle (DORV). Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) is a congenital cardiac issue that refers to a combination of four related heart defects that usually occur together. After further evaluation and medical procedures, the doctor advised immediate Open-Heart Surgery for total correction.

His doctors have made it clear: Without this surgery, Usman’s life is at risk. His condition will continue to worsen, leading to irreversible damage or even loss of life.

Despite the urgency, his father faces significant financial barriers, making it impossible to afford surgical and medical care. His family wants to see their son grow and thrive in life. Usman’s father is a daily wager with a monthly income of PKR 15000 only. He resides in his uncle’s house along with his family. With his father being the only source of income, they cannot afford the surgical costs.

Usman’s father made his plea in the following words:

“I work to the point of exhaustion, but my financial resources are still not enough to cover my son’s surgical and medical expenses. I watch him struggle to breathe properly. I’m heartbroken to see that I cannot afford the treatment he desperately needs. We need your support through your kind donations”

Muhammad Usman's Story

Muhammad Usman, a 2-year-old resident of Bahawalpur, had been experiencing severe chest discomfort and shortness of breath since birth. These symptoms affected his ability to play and grow like other kids his age. Deeply concerned, his parents consulted a doctor. After undergoing extensive diagnostic tests, Usman was diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) and Double Outlet Right Ventricle (DORV). The doctor advised open-heart surgery for total correction to save Usman’s life. However, the surgical cost was beyond his family’s financial capacity.

Usman lived in his uncle's house along with his family. His father worked as a daily wage laborer and made just PKR 15000 per month. The family survived in extreme poverty. The cost of the surgery was far beyond their financial means. During this challenging time, the family turned to Transparent Hands and asked us to register his case. The generosity and compassion of donors made it possible to arrange the life-saving procedure.

On November 4, 2024, Usman was admitted to the Ittefaq Hospital in Lahore. The surgery was scheduled for November 7, 2024. Dr. Asim Khan performed the complex surgery, which was a remarkable success. After receiving post-operative care and critical monitoring, Usman was discharged in stable condition on November 11, 2024.

Overwhelmed with gratitude, Usman’s parents shared their heartfelt thanks as follows:

“Our son’s life was in danger but your support came as a miracle. You saved Usman’s life. We will forever be thankful for this incredible kindness and support.”

Today, Usman is regaining his strength. He has a bright future ahead, free from the limitations of his heart condition. This remarkable change was made possible through your generous support. His family extends their deepest gratitude to you and the Pakistan Children’s Heart Foundation for contributing to his surgery. You changed his life and brought hope to a family in need.
