Support Ziam’s Cochlear Implant Surgery
Muhammad Ziam's Story
Muhammad Ziam suffers from hearing loss and has spent the first five years of his life in a world of silence. He is a stranger to all the sounds we take for granted. However, it doesn’t have to be this way. He can gain the ability to hear with a cochlear implant, but his parents can’t afford to pay for it due to financial constraints. You can make his surgery possible with as little as $10. Support Ziam’s cochlear implant surgery to fill his future with joy.
Muhammad Ziam, a resident of Lahore, was born without the ability to hear. His parents noticed this and took him to the hospital for a consultation when he was a year old. After a thorough evaluation and running some diagnostic tests, the doctor diagnosed him with Sensorineural Hearing Loss. To overcome this condition, the doctor has advised him to undergo cochlear implant surgery. With this device, he will be able to hear and discover sounds for the first time. The cochlear implant has two components. One is surgically implanted in the ear and the external component is installed a few weeks after the surgery.
The only hurdle Ziam is facing on his way to a better future is that his parents cannot afford to pay for the cochlear implant surgery. Zaim’s family lives in a small house and their monthly income is just PKR 20,000. With this meager income, they hardly manage to pay the bills. His mother expressed her distress in the following words:
“Ziam is such an innocent child who doesn’t know that he was born without the sense of hearing. I am worried about his future. I want him to play and study like all the other kids his age. Please contribute to his campaign on Transparent Hands as we have no other hope.”
Someone told his parents about Transparent Hands and the causes we champion and they reached out to us for help. Now, all we need to provide Ziam with a cochlear implant is a small donation from you. Support Ziam’s cochlear implant surgery and make it possible for him to live his life to the fullest.
