Shumaila Rizwan's Story

Shumaila Rizwan, a 31-year-old resident of Karachi, is eagerly anticipating the arrival of her third child. However, her pregnancy journey is filled with concerns. Having already given birth through a previous C-section, Shumaila faces increased risks and requires specialized medical care for a safe delivery. Unfortunately, her circumstances add an extra layer of complexity to her situation.

Shumaila is a dedicated homemaker, taking care of her family while her husband works as a daily wage earner. With a monthly income of PKR 25,000, they live in a rented two-marla house in Karachi. Their financial situation is challenging as they struggle to meet their basic needs. They have to allocate PKR 5,000 for rent, PKR 1,000 for utility bills, PKR 1,000 for school fees, and additional funds for daily expenses. Given these circumstances, Shumaila and her husband find themselves without the means to afford the necessary surgical expenses for a safe C-section.
The weight of this predicament burdens Shumaila’s heart as she pleads for support, saying, “All I want is to bring my child into this world safely. But the fear of complications and the financial strain we face threaten that dream. Please, help us overcome these obstacles and give our growing family a chance at a brighter future.”

Shumaila Rizwan's Story

Shumaila Rizwan, a 31-year-old resident of Karachi, found herself in a challenging situation. She was pregnant with triplets and her journey was filled with hardships. She had a history of three C-section procedures. Regarding her current pregnancy, she received a medical consultation. The doctor conducted some diagnostic tests and an ultrasound scan and recommended another C-section procedure for the safety of Shumaila and her triplets. However, Shumaila’s family was unable to pay for the surgery.

Shumaila lived in a modest rented house with her husband and children. Her husband works long hours as a daily wage laborer and makes just PKR 25000 monthly. With this insufficient monthly income, they were struggling to make ends meet. Shumaila was excited and nervous simultaneously as the C-section procedure was crucial for her but the financial strain of the surgery cast a shadow of uncertainty on her path towards safe delivery. A ray of hope arose when a neighbor told them about Transparent Hands. She turned to us and asked for help.

The day of surgery arrived and Shumaila was admitted to Murshid Hospital Karachi. On June 17th, 2024, Shumaila’s C-section surgery was carefully performed by Dr. Samreen Zeeshan. The procedure was successful, and the room was filled with the cries of three healthy baby girls.

Shumaila was overwhelmed with tears when she realized that she and her babies were safe and healthy. She was hospitalized for three days and discharged on June 20th, 2024. Shumaila expressed her happiness as follows:

“I was so scared, but you gave me the support I needed. Thank you for bringing my beautiful daughters into this world safely. I am grateful for your generosity.”

The successful C-section surgery provided Shumaila’s family with a renewed sense of hope and relief. Her life was transformed, and she was given the priceless gift of three healthy children and the opportunity to experience the joys of motherhood once again. We are incredibly grateful to you for coming forward to support her during this critical time.
