Said Meena's Story

Said Meena, a 42-year-old resident of Karachi, has been suffering uterine fibroids and excessive monthly period flow for the past two years, which is a painful condition. She has been unable to receive the required treatment despite her continuous attempts to seek medical help due to financial constraints.

Meena recently went to a local hospital for a free physical examination. The doctor diagnosed her with uterine fibroids and advised a hysterectomy as the best course of treatment. Her severe symptoms, such as severe menstrual bleeding, pelvic pain, and discomfort, can only be relieved by this surgery.

After her husband passed away ten years ago, Meena raised her two children on her own alone and is an inspiration for perseverance and resilience. She lives with her two children in a rented house in Karachi. She works as a tailor and just earns PKR 15,000 per month. This amount is not enough to pay her PKR 2,000 in utility bills and PKR 5,000 in rent. This puts her in a very tight financial condition.
