Support Nadeem Defeat TOF
Muhammad Nadeem's Story
Muhammad Nadeem, a 39-year-old man from Lahore, has been battling with shortness of breath, chest pain, and a bluish discoloration of his skin for the past three years. After undergoing diagnostic tests and evaluations, he was diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF), a complex congenital heart defect. The only solution for his condition is total correction surgery along with pulmonary valve replacement. However, his family’s financial circumstances have pushed them to the edge of despair.
Nadeem lives in his own house in a joint family set up with his wife, three children, and six other members. Nadeem, once a hardworking individual, is now unemployed due to his deteriorating health. His devoted wife, a skilled tailor, earns a meager income of PKR 5,000 monthly, barely enough to meet their daily needs. Their three young children are unable to comprehend the gravity of their father’s situation. The burden of providing for the family falls entirely on Muhammad Nadeem’s brother, who works in a shop and earns PKR 45,000 monthly. His brother has to pay shop rent amounting to PKR 13,000 and utility bills amounting to PKR 4,000. With no other sources of income and mounting medical expenses, this joint family is trapped in a cycle of financial crisis.
Nadeem said it with teary eyes:
“In the depths of my suffering, I find solace in the love and support of my family. Your support will not only alleviate my pain but also grant me the chance to witness my children’s future unfold. “
In their search for a glimmer of hope, Muhammad Nadeem’s family reached out to Transparent Hands, and we recognize the urgent need for surgical intervention to save Muhammad Nadeem’s life. We are determined to raise funds to cover the expenses of the total correction surgery and pulmonary valve replacement, enabling him to regain his health, breathe freely, and experience the joy of living without constant pain and struggle.
Please Note: In certain situations, we proceed with the patient's surgery/medical procedure despite incomplete funding displayed on the website. Following the surgery/medical procedure, we persist in collecting funds and maintain the campaign on the website until funding is secured in full. Hospitals have granted us a grace period for bill payment.
Muhammad Nadeem's Story
Muhammad Nadeem, a 39-year-old father of three from Lahore, had been battling with breathlessness and chest pain for three years. His skin and lips often took on a bluish color and any mild to moderate physical activity made him breathless and fatigued. Moreover, his condition took away his ability to work and provide for his family. He went to a doctor and received a consultation. After performing a comprehensive examination, the doctor diagnosed him with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) and recommended open-heart surgery for total correction. Unfortunately, the surgical cost was beyond Nadeem’s financial reach. Nadeem was unemployed due to his heart disease. His wife is a seamstress and his brother holds a private job. The family’s monthly income was insufficient to even cover utility bills, groceries, and other living expenses. Paying for the costly surgery was significantly challenging for Nadeem’s family. During this dark time, Nadeem reached out to Transparent Hands and asked us for assistance. Moved by his plea, we promptly registered his case. The day of hope arrived. Nadeem was admitted to Ittefaq Hospital Lahore on 8th July 2024. The surgery was scheduled for 10th July 2024. Dr. Asim Khan performed the delicate procedure and repaired the defects in his heart. Post-surgery, he was hospitalized for seven days and received necessary care and monitoring. On 17th July 2024, Nadeem recovered and was discharged in a stable condition from the hospital. Nadeem was overwhelmed with happiness and said: “After a long suffering, I can now breathe without struggling. Before surgery, I was scared and helpless, but your support gave me strength. Now, I can live a healthy life and work to provide for my children.” Today, Nadeem’s quality of life has significantly improved. He can work, and live his life without the constant fear of his heart failing. His family is extremely thankful to you and the Pakistan Children’s Heart Foundation for making this life-saving surgery possible.
