Support Mehmood in Reclaiming His Sight
Mehmood Ahmed's Story
Mehmood Ahmed, a 49-year-old resident of Lahore, finds his world shrouded in a veil of diminishing sight. Diagnosed with cataracts in his right eye, he struggles to perform daily tasks, his vision blurring with each passing day. The doctor’s recommendation of Phaco + IOL surgery offers a glimmer of hope, a chance to reclaim vision clarity.
Mehmood resides in his modest 3-marla house in Lahore, sharing it with his wife and three sons. The family’s livelihood rests on their small grocery shop, where they collectively earn approximately PKR 30,000 per month. Despite their combined efforts, financial constraints pose a significant barrier to affording the necessary surgery.
The weight of utility bills amounting to PKR 7,000 and loan repayment of PKR 20,000 further strain their limited resources. The prospect of covering the cost of Mehmood’s surgery seems insurmountable, leaving him and his family in a state of anxiety.
Mehmood said in despair:
“I long to see the faces of my loved ones, to manage my shop’s account without straining my eyes, and to see things clearly without losing my self-confidence. I humbly appeal to kind-hearted individuals for their generous support and financial contributions towards my surgery.”
Yet, amidst the challenges, a spark of hope remains. Mehmood contacted Transparent Hands to register his case. With your support, we can help Mehmood regain his sight, allowing him to see the faces of his loved ones once again. Your generous contribution can illuminate his path, restoring his ability to work, provide for his family, and experience the world with renewed clarity.

Mehmood Ahmed's Story
Mehmood Ahmed, a 49-year-old man from Lahore, was suffering from short-sightedness and blurry vision. Upon consultation with a doctor, he was diagnosed with a cataract in his right eye. To restore his vision, the doctor recommended Phaco+IOL surgery. However, affording the cost of the surgery was beyond his financial abilities as he was already facing financial hardships. His family has a meager monthly income and they live in a modest home.
Mehmood’s life was badly affected by his visual impairment. He used to bump into things while walking and carrying out routine tasks became significantly challenging. He desperately needed the surgery but was unable to pay for it. If left untreated, the cataract could have become worse and increased the risk of glaucoma and even blindness. During this time of need, he contacted Transparent Hands and asked us for help. After listening to his concerns, we promptly registered the case.
He underwent right Phaco + IOL surgery at Life Hospital Lahore to treat his visual impairment. The procedure was performed by Dr. Shaheer on 29th July 2024.
