Iqra Maqsood's Story
Iqra Maqsood, a resilient 31-year-old mother from Lahore, found herself on the edge of uncertainty, eagerly anticipating the arrival of her fifth child. Having delivered her previous four babies via C-section, her doctor recommended another Lower Segment Cesarean section for the safety of both herself and her unborn baby.
In her seventh month of pregnancy, Iqra visited the local hospital for a routine checkup. Based on her medical records and current situation, her gynecologist advised the crucial need for another C-section. However, with a monthly household income of only PKR 45,000, barely covering their basic needs, the burden of medical expenses loomed heavily over her and her husband.
Living in a modest house with their four children, Iqra's heartfelt plea for support echoed her fervent desire for a safe and healthy birth for her baby. Transparent Hands became her beacon of hope, where she sought the financial assistance crucial for the C-section delivery.
Thanks to the unwavering generosity of compassionate donors, Iqra was admitted to Lahore Care Hospital on 25th September 2023. Under the expertise and care of Dr. Rukhshanda Toheed, the essential C-section procedure was conducted the same day, ensuring a safe delivery for both mother and child.
However, following the birth, the newborn faced unforeseen medical conditions of respiratory distress. The baby was admitted to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Lahore Care Hospital from 25th September 2023 to 29th September 2023, where the specialized medical team provided dedicated care to the baby.
On 29th September 2023, after receiving intensive care and treatment, the newborn was discharged from the PICU in satisfactory condition, marking a positive turn in her health.
Iqra Maqsood having been discharged earlier on 27th September 2023 in good health, was overjoyed to embrace motherhood again and was immensely grateful for the support received during this challenging time. The collective support extended by the donors not only secured a safe delivery for Iqra's baby but also provided crucial medical care during the baby's stay in the PICU.
