Basharat, a 15-year-old resident of Okara, experienced a sad incident four months ago. He was working in a field when his right hand and forearm were severely crushed in a thresher machine. He was taken to the hospital in an emergency, but the doctors could not save his arm, and had to amputate it below the elbow. They advised him to get a prosthetic limb.
He lives with his parents and four siblings. His father is the only earner in the family and earns PKR 20,000 per month. His father is not in a stable financial position to pay for an artificial arm. Basharat said in despair:
“My life turned upside down after I lost my right arm in that horrifying incident. I feel alone and worthless without it, and I can’t afford a new one to continue my studies and pursue a respectable job.”
After a lot of distress, Basharat registered his case with Transparent Hands. We are determined to make his life better as soon as we can. But, it won’t be possible without your help.
