Zahra Anwar's Story

Zahra Anwer, a 59-year-old woman from Karachi, has been suffering from pain due to a lump in her left breast for seven months. What began as mild discomfort gradually turned into severe pain and fatigue, making it difficult for her to carry out even the simplest daily tasks. The disease has affected her physical and emotional well-being, leaving her in constant distress. Zahra went to a local hospital and consulted a doctor. After performing medical examinations, her doctor confirmed that she had cancer in her left breast and recommended Modified Radical Mastectomy (MRM) to prevent further complications. However, the cost of the procedure is beyond her means, leaving her with an uncertain future.

Zahra lives in a small rented house with her husband and their only son. Her husband, a laborer, earns a modest income of PKR 35,000 per month, which barely covers their household expenses. Their son, who is currently unemployed, is struggling to find work to support the family. Due to their financial constraints, Zahra’s family is unable to provide her with the necessary surgery.
