Sofia Awaits a C-Section for a Safe Delivery
Sofia Ahmad's Story
Sofia Ahmad, a 27-year-old woman from Jhang, is over 26 weeks pregnant and she is eagerly awaiting the arrival of her second child. Sofia went to a local hospital and consulted a doctor. Due to her previous C-section, the doctor has advised her to undergo another planned C-section for childbirth. This decision was made to ensure the safety of both the mother and the baby. Sofia’s excitement is overshadowed by fear as her family can’t afford the C-section.
Without the C-section, Sofia and her unborn baby’s life will be at risk. Both Sofia and her baby face may face complications like obstructed labor, uterine rupture, or fetal distress.
Sofia lives in a rented house with her husband, one daughter, and two other family members. Life took a difficult turn when Sofia’s husband had a road accident, leaving him unable to work. With no source of income from him, the burden of running the household fell on her mother-in-law and brother-in-law. Together, they manage to earn PKR 50,000 per month, but it is barely enough to cover their essential expenses. They live in a modest rented house, paying PKR 10,000 in rent and PKR 5000 in utility bills. With their financial condition stretched thin, they are unable to pay for the surgery.
Sofia said with teary eyes:
“I just want to bring my baby into this world safely, but I am so worried. Without this surgery, both my baby and I would be in danger. I request you to kindly help me in undergoing a safe C-section.”
Sofia is counting on your kindness. She is a mother fighting for the well-being of her child, yet financial hardships stand in the way of a safe delivery. A little support can turn her worries into relief and ensure that both she and her baby receive quality healthcare.
