Shama Needs Mastectomy to Survive
Shama Naz, a 45-year-old woman from Karachi, is experiencing a challenging moment in her life due to a lump in her left breast. For two years, the illness has significantly affected her daily life, making routine activities increasingly difficult. She faces persistent pain, weakness, and fatigue, which drains her emotionally and physically. Shama went to a nearby hospital and consulted a doctor, who performed some lab tests and an ultrasound scan and diagnosed her with left breast cancer. The doctor strongly recommended Modified Radical Mastectomy (MRM) as a necessary intervention. However, the cost of the procedure is beyond her financial reach.
If Shama does not undergo surgery soon, the disease may continue to progress, spreading to other areas of her body and putting her life in danger. She will experience worsening pain, further weakness, and a decline in her well-being. Without the necessary treatment, her chances of recovery will diminish significantly, and the condition may become untreatable.
Shama lives in a small house with her husband and three school-going children. Her husband, the sole breadwinner in the family, works as a laborer and earns only PKR 35,000 per month. With this meager monthly income, they pay PKR 6000 in utility bills and educational fees amounting to PKR 10,000 per month. Their financial limitations have left them feeling helpless and they find it impossible to afford the high cost of her surgery. During this time of need, Shama Naz reached out to Transparent Hands and asked for help.
Shama said in despair:
“I am fighting a battle that seems endless. But hope keeps me going. Your kindness can bring me the opportunity to heal and live without limits. Kindly help me win this battle and return to a life free from suffering.”
Your contributions will make it possible for Shama to receive the life-saving treatment. Together, we can help her regain her health and bring hope to her family.
Come forward and be a light during Shama’s dark time!
