Shakel awaits Prosthetic Leg
Shakel Ahmed's Story
Shakel awaits Prosthetic Leg. Before we dive deep into the details of Shakel Ahmed’s ailment, please know that you can help him. We urge you to please donate for Shakel’s artificial leg. Your donation, no matter how little will help Shakel get up to his feet and walk again.
Two years ago, forty-one years old Shakel suffered from a horrible road accident. The passers-by immediately took him to the hospital. Due to the severity of the wounds and a crushed leg, his right leg had to be amputated from above knee level. After his wound healed, the doctor advised him to get a prosthetic leg installed. A prosthetic leg will take the place of Shakel’s missing limb and make it much easier for him to get around and do his daily tasks.
Unfortunately, Shakel Ahmed is in no position to arrange for his prosthetic procedure. Shakel Ahmed’s livelihood depends on a bunch of goats that live on his farm. He sells their milk and hardly manages to make PKR 15000 per month. In this measly income, he hardly bears the household expenses. He told us:
“Ever since the doctors amputated my leg, I feel as if I am good for nothing. Every day is a turmoil. I am dependent on my family even for the most basic tasks of standing up, going to the bathroom and walking. Please help me get an artificial leg so I can be able to stand on my own two feet again.”
Luckily, Shakel Ahmed’s family was connected with us and registered his case with Transparent Hands. We are ready to help Shakel with his prosthetic placement. As Shakel awaits Prosthetic Leg all we need is your help in the form of donations. Therefore, we request you to please donate for Shakel’s artificial leg as much as you can. Donate now!
Please Note: In certain situations, we proceed with the patient's surgery/medical procedure despite incomplete funding displayed on the website. Following the surgery/medical procedure, we persist in collecting funds and maintain the campaign on the website until funding is secured in full. Hospitals have granted us a grace period for bill payment.
Shakel Ahmed's Story
Shakeel Ahmad, a 41-year-old resident of Okara, met with a roadside accident two years ago and his leg was badly crushed. He was rushed to the hospital and the doctors advised him to undergo a right above-knee amputation. After the amputation, Shakeel was unable to run his daily errands. It has been two years since he underwent this trauma. He needed an artificial leg to perform his daily activities. He was sent to Hope Rehabilitation Center where he received his new prosthetic leg after consultation with Dr. Khalid Niazi on 08.02.2022. He is undergoing therapy now as advised by the doctors. Shakeel Ahmad will be able to walk normally again soon.
