Zainab Batool's Story

Zainab Batool, a 6-year-old spirited girl from Lahore, has been suffering from breathlessness, cyanosis, and chest discomfort since birth. Her parents consulted with a cardiac surgeon who diagnosed her with Supracardiac Total Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Connection (TAPVC). It is a congenital heart defect where the pulmonary veins do not connect to the left atrium, causing the mixing of oxygen-rich and oxygen-poor blood. To save her life, the doctor recommended TAPVC Repair surgery.

Zainab’s parents are heartbroken to see her condition as she is unable to gain weight like other children of her age. Zainab won’t be able to focus on her studies if her cardiac symptoms persist.

Despite their unconditional love for their daughter, Zainab’s parents face financial hardships and are unable to afford the cost of the life-saving surgery. They live in a modest two-room brick house. Her father, the only breadwinner in the family, works in a factory and earns just PKR 28000. This meager income is hardly sufficient to pay utility bills amounting to PKR 4000 and PKR 7000 for educational expenses.

Zainab’s parents expressed their grief with teary eyes:

“We can’t bear to see our daughter struggling to breathe properly. With every passing day, her health has been deteriorating. We can’t afford to pay for her life-saving surgery. We appeal to you for donations to save Zainab’s life.”
