Muhammad Asif's Story

Muhammad Asif, a 29-year-old resident of Sheikhupura, has been battling with shortness of breath, chest pain, and fatigue for the past three months. After undergoing diagnostic tests and evaluations, the doctor diagnosed him with tight Mitral Stenosis (MS) and Severe Aortic Regurgitation (AR). The recommended course of action is a Double Valve Replacement (DVR) surgery, which will provide him with the chance to regain his health and vitality.

Asif works as an AC technician and earns 40,000 PKR per month. However, due to his illness, he is currently unable to continue working. He supports a family of four, including two children, and resides in a joint family household with a total of eight members. His brother, who is a daily wage laborer, contributes an additional 40,000 PKR to the family’s income. Unfortunately, there are no other sources of income available to them. Given the financial constraints, Asif is unable to afford the expenses associated with his necessary surgical procedure.

Asif said it in a depressed tone:

“I feel lost and overwhelmed as my family faces a financial crisis. Our income barely covers our basic needs, let alone the cost of the life-saving surgery I urgently need. I humbly ask for your kindness and support to help me regain my health and bring hope back into our lives.”

Muhammad Asif's Story

Muhammad Asif, a 29-year-old man from Sheikhupura, had been experiencing breathlessness, chest pain, and palpitations. This condition affected his work and family life. Any mild to moderate physical activity made him breathless and fatigued. He went to a local hospital and consulted a doctor, who ran some lab tests and diagnosed him with Mitral Stenosis (MS), and severe Aortic Regurgitation (AR). To correct the defects in his heart, the doctor advised Double Valve Replacement (DVR) surgery. However, the cost of the surgery was beyond his financial capacity.

Living in a small house with his joint family of eight members, Asif barely made ends meet. Asif worked as an AC technician and his brother was a daily wage laborer. Their monthly income was insufficient to cover even their household expenses in addition to the living expenses of eight family members. The clock was ticking for Asif, but he faced financial limitations. During this difficult time, Asif contacted Transparent Hands and asked for help. Moved by his plea, we registered his case.

On 21st October 2024, Asif was admitted to the National Hospital & Medical Centre in Lahore. The surgery was scheduled for 22nd October 2024. Dr. Ahmed Shahbaz carefully managed his case and performed the Double Valve Replacement surgery. After receiving post-operative care and critical monitoring, Asif was discharged in stable condition on 27th October 2024.

Asif was overjoyed and said:

“I had given up hope, but this surgery changed everything. Now I can live without pain, work, and laugh again. The happiness I feel is overwhelming and all this happened due to your generosity. You’ve given me a life I never thought possible. Thanks a lot!”

Asif’s quality of life has improved beyond measure. He is embracing each day, and cherishing the moments spent with his family and friends. His family is deeply grateful to you for supporting Asif and saving his life.
