Azmat Ali's Story

Meet Azmat Ali, an 11-year-old brave boy from Dera Ghazi Khan, who has been battling shortness of breath, fatigue, palpitations, and chest discomfort since birth. Due to his illness, he isn’t able to grow and play like other kids of his age. His parents consulted a doctor about Azmat’s condition. The doctor conducted some medical tests and diagnosed Azmat with moderate Secundum ASD, and right ventricular volume overload (RVVO). Secundum ASD is an abnormal opening between the upper heart’s chambers because of failure of the separation wall to develop. Upon evaluation, the doctor advised an ASD closure device to save Azmat’s heart. However, the cost of the procedure is overwhelming for Azmat’s family.

If left untreated, Azmat’s heart illness can potentially lead to life-threatening complications and ultimately cause death. His condition has affected his social interactions, lifestyle, daily activities, and quality of life. Azmat avoids playing with kids as he becomes tired easily.

Azmat lives in a one-room rented mud house with his six family members. His father, the sole breadwinner in the family, works as a daily wage laborer and brings in just PKR 25000 monthly. The monthly rent of the house amounts to PKR 2500. Moreover, the family is burdened with a staggering loan of PKR 600,000. With their insufficient monthly income, paying for the costly surgery is impossible for his family.

Azmat’s parents said in despair:

“Our son has been battling his illness for a long time. We are heartbroken to see him struggling, but we are unable to give him a healthy life. We want you to support our son and save his life.”

Not only will the ASD closure surgery repair the abnormal opening in his heart but also improve his participation in daily activities, leading to better health outcomes.

We ask you to be generous and help Azmat Ali get the surgery he desperately needs. Your donation can make a profound difference in his life, allowing him to overcome this deteriorating heart condition and regain his health and happiness.

Please donate today and help Azmat live a life free from pain and fear.

Azmat Ali's Story

Azmat Ali, an 11-year-old boy from Dera Ghazi Khan, had been experiencing breathlessness, fatigue, palpitations, and chest discomfort since birth. His inability to keep up with other children while playing left him isolated and frustrated. Concerned about his health, his parents consulted a doctor.

After a thorough evaluation and medical tests, the doctor diagnosed Azmat with moderate Secundum Atrial Septal Defect (ASD) and Right Ventricular Volume Overload (RVVO). The abnormal opening in the upper chambers of his heart caused improper blood flow, putting excessive strain on his heart. The doctor recommended an ASD closure device to address the defect. However, the surgical cost was beyond his family’s reach.

Azmat lived in a rented mud house with his six family members. His father, the sole breadwinner in the family, worked as a daily wage laborer and brought in just PKR 25000 monthly. The family’s financial struggles left them with no hope of affording the life-saving treatment. With hope in their hearts, they turned to Transparent Hands. We registered his case.

On November 7, 2024, Azmat was admitted to Ittefaq Hospital in Lahore. Dr. Masood Sadiq performed the ASD closure procedure, which successfully occluded the defect and alleviated the strain on his heart. After receiving post-operative care, Azmat was discharged in stable condition on November 08, 2024.

Azmat’s parents shared their gratitude by saying:

“Our son can now breathe easily and play with his friends. You gave us a gift we could never afford ourselves. We are forever grateful for this kindness. You truly changed our son’s life.”

Azmat is now recovering and enjoying a new lease on life. His parents are overjoyed to see him playing with friends and thriving in life. This change was made possible by your generosity. Your donations helped Azmat overcome a significant health challenge, giving him a brighter and healthier future. Azmat’s family extends their deepest gratitude to you for supporting his surgery.
