Sadaf Masih's Story

Sadaf, a 20-year-old woman from Karachi, is pregnant with her second child. However, what should be a joyful and hopeful time is filled with fear and uncertainty. Sadaf’s first child was delivered through a C-section. She consulted a gynecologist for this pregnancy. The doctor performed a comprehensive examination and recommended an elective C-section for this delivery. Without it, both her and her unborn baby’s lives are at significant risk. However, the cost of the surgery is out of her family’s reach.

The consequences of not undergoing the surgery can be serious. Sadaf may face life-threatening complications such as severe internal bleeding, and fetal distress. These conditions can lead to tragic outcomes for both mother and baby. Without timely medical help, this hopeful time can become a heartbreaking experience for her family.

Sadaf lives in a one-room rented house with her three family members. Her husband, the sole breadwinner in the family, is a daily wage laborer and makes just PKR 32000 per month. This income barely covers their household expenses, leaving no room for medical costs. The cost of the C-section surgery is far beyond their financial capacity. With hope in her heart, Sadaf contacted Transparent Hands and asked for assistance.

Sadaf said in despair:

“I am eagerly waiting to welcome my baby into this world, but every day, fear fills my heart. The thought of something going wrong keeps me awake at night. All I want is to safely bring my child into this world. Please help me protect my baby.”

Your support can ensure that Sadaf’s delivery is safe and smooth, allowing her to embrace her newborn with peace of mind. A healthy start for her baby and a safe delivery for Sadaf will bring immense relief and joy to this struggling family.

Sadaf Masih's Story

Sadaf Masih, a 20-year-old woman from Karachi, was eagerly awaiting the arrival of her second child. What should have been a time of happiness and anticipation was instead overshadowed by anxiety and concern. During her first pregnancy, she had undergone a C-section, making her current pregnancy more complicated. Aware of the risks, Sadaf consulted a gynecologist for medical advice. After a thorough examination and necessary tests, the doctor strongly recommended an elective C-section to ensure a safe delivery. Without the procedure, Sadaf’s health and her unborn child’s life were at serious risk. However, the financial burden of the surgery was beyond her family’s means.

Sadaf lived in a small one-room rented house with her husband and their first child. Her husband, the only earning member of the household, worked as a daily wage laborer and brought home just PKR 32,000 per month. With this limited income, he struggled to cover their rent, groceries, and other essential expenses. Affording the cost of a C-section seemed impossible, leaving Sadaf and her family distressed and uncertain about the future. In search of help, they turned to Transparent Hands and asked us to register her case.

On January 27, 2025, Sadaf was admitted to Murshid Hospital in Karachi, where Dr. Farkhanda successfully performed the C-section. The surgery went smoothly, and Sadaf gave birth to a healthy baby boy. Sadaf received post-operative care and was discharged in satisfactory condition on January 29, 2025.

Overwhelmed with gratitude, Sadaf expressed her emotions as follows:

"I cannot express how relieved and grateful I am. We had no way to afford this surgery, and I was worried for my baby’s safety. Because of your kindness, I am holding my healthy child in my arms today. Thank you for giving me and my baby a new chance at life."

With her newborn safely delivered, Sadaf can now focus on caring for her growing family. Her husband and loved ones are incredibly thankful to you for making this life-saving procedure possible. Your support has filled Sadaf’s home with happiness.
