Saba Imran Awaits Total Abdominal Hysterectomy
Saba Imran's Story
Saba Imran, a 43-year-old woman from Lahore, has been suffering from polymenorrhagia (frequent and heavy menstrual bleeding) along with severe pelvic pain for many years, resulting in anemia and fatigue. She received symptomatic treatment but only found temporary relief. After suffering for a while, she decided to consult a specialist, who after running some medical tests and an ultrasound scan diagnosed Saba with Adenomyosis. It occurs when the tissue that lines the uterus grows into the wall of the uterus making a lump which bleeds. The doctor recommended Total Abdominal Hysterectomy – a surgical procedure to remove the uterus. However, Saba’s family can’t afford the surgery.
Saba faces difficulty while managing her household tasks and taking care of her child. If her condition is left untreated, she may experience worsening symptoms over time. Her fertility can be impacted, and due to chronic anemia, her body may lack healthy red blood cells, affecting her energy levels and overall health.
Saba is a housewife, living in a modest rented house with her husband and daughter. Her husband, the sole breadwinner in the family, holds a private job and brings in just PKR 35000 per month. With this meager monthly income, he pays PKR 15000 in rent, PKR 3500 for utility bills, and educational expenses totaling PKR 5000. The family’s financial situation is stretched thin and they have no savings to pay for Saba’s much-needed surgery. During this challenging time, Saba reached out to Transparent Hands and asked us for help.
Saba Imran said in despair:
“This disease has caused me years of suffering, and surgery is the only option. My husband works to the point of exhaustion but the surgery’s cost is far beyond his means. My daily life is a struggle with pain. Please help me get the treatment I desperately need.”
This surgery will play a pivotal role in improving her quality of life. The longer she waits, the more severe her condition will become, potentially leading to complications.
We urge you to come forward and extend your support to Saba. Your contributions will ease her chronic pain and discomfort.
