Iftikhar Ahmad's Story

Iftikhar Ahmad, a 53-year-old man from Lahore, was once an independent and hardworking man, living happily. However, life took a tragic turn when he had a road accident. His right leg was severely crushed and despite all efforts, doctors had no choice but to perform a below-knee amputation to save his life. The accident not only took away his leg but also his ability to work and support his family. Now, Iftikhar struggles with daily activities. Even simple activities like standing, walking, and moving around his home have become an overwhelming challenge. His doctor has advised him to get a right below-knee prosthesis, which will restore his mobility and allow him to regain independence. However, the cost of the prosthesis is far beyond his reach.

Without a below-knee prosthesis, Iftikhar’s struggles will only intensify. He will remain dependent on others for basic tasks. The lack of mobility may lead to muscle weakness, joint stiffness, and other health complications.

Iftikhar lives in a small house with his wife, one son, and five daughters. His family is struggling to make ends meet. Since he is unable to work, his former employer sends him PKR 20,000 per month which is their only source of income. Out of this, PKR 8000 is spent on his children’s education and PKR 3000 on utility bills, leaving very little for other household expenses. With such financial hardships, affording a prosthetic limb is simply impossible for him. During this difficult time, Iftikhar contacted Transparent Hands and asked for assistance.

Iftikhar said in despair:

“I never imagined a life where I would be so dependent on others. I want to be there for my children, to provide for them, and to walk again with dignity. But without a prosthetic leg, I am unable to do anything. Please help me regain my independence.”

Iftikhar’s future depends on this prosthesis. With your generous support, we can help him walk again, regain his confidence, and rebuild his life.

Join hands with us to give Iftikhar a chance to live with dignity and hope once more.
