Restore Farzana’s Ability to Walk Independently
Farzana Ghulam Hussain's Story
For the past six years, Farzana Ghulam Hussain, a 43-year-old woman from Karachi, has been suffering from pain in both of her hip joints. Simple tasks like walking around her home, caring for her children, or even standing for a while have become significantly challenging. Desperate for relief, Farzana visited a doctor at a local hospital. After performing a thorough examination, the doctor diagnosed Farzana with bilateral Avascular Necrosis (AVN) of the hip. It is a condition that occurs when the blood supply to the hip joints is disrupted, leading to the death of bone tissue. Her left hip joint is more affected than the right one. Therefore, her doctor has advised her to undergo left Hip Replacement surgery, but her family can’t afford to pay for her surgery.
If Farzana does not undergo surgery, she may experience persistent pain. She may not be able to stand, sit, and walk. The condition may worsen over time, leading to joint deformity and further cartilage damage.
Farzana lives in a rented home with her husband and four children. Her husband works hard as a daily wage laborer, earning only PKR 30,000 per month—an amount barely enough to make ends meet. They struggle to pay PKR 12,000 for house rent along with utility bills of PKR 2000. One of their four children is in school, and they also have to pay PKR 2000 monthly for their school fees. With such limited resources, affording this life-changing hip replacement surgery is simply impossible for them.
With tearful eyes, Farzana shared her plea as follows:
“I can no longer care for my family the way I used to. The pain has taken away my ability to walk, to work, and to live normally. I dream of the day when I will be able to stand on my own feet again without pain and without needing help for every little thing. Please help me regain my mobility so I can live a normal life again.”
Farzana’s future depends on your generosity. Your support can relieve her pain, restore her ability to walk, and give her a chance to live independently again. Open your hearts and give generously.
