Relieve Aasma’s Throat Pain Through Tonsillectomy
Aasma Ghulam Nabi's Story
Aasma Ghulam Nabi, a 23-year-old woman from Matiari, Sindh, has been experiencing recurring episodes of severe throat pain for the past year. Her condition is accompanied by fever and cough. The pain has made it difficult for her to eat, sleep, and speak properly. During a visit to the doctor, Aasma was diagnosed with chronic tonsillitis. It is a condition characterized by the persistent inflammation of the tonsils. To treat this issue, her doctor has recommended tonsillectomy. Unfortunately, the surgical cost is overwhelming for her family.
If left untreated, her chronic tonsillitis can lead to tonsillar enlargement, breathing problems while sleeping, and the spread of the infection to other tissues.
Aasma’s husband works at a photocopy shop, earning a modest income of PKR 15,000 per month. The couple lives in a rented house, for which they pay PKR 8000 each month along with PKR 1000 for utility bills. After managing basic expenses, there is hardly anything left for medical treatment. They are also burdened with a loan of PKR 200,000, leaving no room for Aasma’s medical procedure. During this time of need, Aasma reached out to Transparent Hands and asked for help.
Aasma said in despair:
“Each day is a struggle. The pain in my throat makes it hard for me to even eat or rest. My husband tries his best to support us, but we are already drowning in debt. We just don’t have the means to pay for the surgery. I don’t want to continue living in pain like this. Kindly contribute.”
Aasma’s life can take a positive turn with your support. Your donations can bring her lasting relief and hope. Let’s stand together to help her reclaim her health and live without the pain she has experienced for far too long.
